One committee is chosen every month to be ‘the committee of the month’. In this column we tell about the activities and/or goals of one of the many committees of Semper Florens. This month, the ExcurCie.
The ExcurCie organizes a study-related excursion to a company in the agricultural sector. These excursions are very diverse to give you a look on the whole agricultural sector. The previous excursion was to Inotec, a seed enhancement specialist. Inotec works with seeds for field crops and vegetables. During this excursion we got to take a peek into their company, and look for ourselves how they worked.
The ExcurCie is the committee of the month, because on the 25th of February the next excursion will take place! This time we will go to Schoneveld Breeding. Schoneveld Breeding creates strong varieties flowering pot plants with high ornamental value and long flower life. Each series has a number of constant unique characteristics, such as suitability for indoor or outdoor use or for a specific climate. During the visit to Schoneveld Breeding, their cell biologist and head breeder will tell everything about the company about both genetics and agriculture.
