Ratatouille

Ratatouille

We are the ConsumpCie and we are starting a blog in this coronatime with nice recipes and ideas for you to make.

Our very first recipe on this blog is famous from the movie Ratatouille, where this is made by the rat Remy. This is the perfect recipe if you have time to show off your kitchen skills. So let's begin!

What do you need?

  • onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • Olive oil
  • 3 – 4 big tomatoes
  • 140 grams of tomato paste (canned)
  • 1 eggplant
  • 1 green zucchini
  • 1 yellow zucchini
  • A few sprigs of thyme
  • Salt and pepper
  • Oven dish

How do you make it?

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.

Divide the tomato paste over the bottom of the baking dish. Sprinkle the finely chopped onion and the finely chopped garlic on top. Also add a tablespoon of olive oil.

Wash the vegetables and cut the bottoms of the zucchinis and eggplant. Also remove the crowns from the tomatoes. Cut all the vegetables into thin slices.

Tip: use a sharp knife for this.

Arrange the slices of vegetables on the bottom of the baking dish, draped nicely over the tomato paste. Drizzle with olive oil, season with salt and pepper and sprinkle with sprigs of thyme.

Tip: put the oil, salt, pepper and thyme in a bowl and sprinkle with a spoon on the vegetables.

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil or baking paper. Put the baking dish in the oven for about 45 minutes. Remove the oven dish from the oven and enjoy!
