One committee is chosen every month to be ‘the committee of the month’. In this column, we tell about the activities and/or goals of one of the many committees of Semper Florens. This month, the First-years Committee.
The First-years Committee has been very busy last month, planning lovely activities for the upcoming first-year bachelor students! They organise the study day in the AID, where the new plant science students can get to know Semper Florens and their fellow students during some games and a very nice BBQ at the end of the day. In the 2nd week of the new college year, the first-years diner takes place. Here the new plantles will be introduced to all the committees of Semper Florens, and have a chance to join one of them! Every year a first-years weekend is organized. This year it will take place from the 4th till 6th of October. Here you really get to know each other, and you can even make some friends for the rest of your study! Cozy campfires are always the nicest part of the weekend. Lastly, the First-years committee organizes a mystery activity, but this surprise will reveal itself in time.
We are all really looking forward to the new college year, and getting to know all the new seedlings!
