One committee is chosen every month to be ‘the committee of the month’. In this column, we tell about the activities and/or goals of one of the many committees of Semper Florens. This month, the TDL-Cie.
TDL stands for Theme, Discussion and Career. The TDL-Cie is one of the more serious committees, that organizes educational activities. For instance, on the 25th of March, previous rector magnificus Martin Kropff came to a theme evening and gave a presentation about his experiences in his scientific and business career. His talk was very inspiring, since it gave a peek into what we can achieve as students, if we keep working hard.
After this, we enjoyed an excursion to a combined apple and pear farm, which was new for the TDL-Cie to organize, but very interesting as well. Besides the farm, a fruit cooperative was visited. This company, which is called ‘FruitMasters’, is the largest fruit cooperative in the Netherlands. There was a guided tour through their, package, transportation and grading department, which was really cool to see!
This week we can enjoy their next activity! The TDL-Cie organizes an educational excursion through the woods of Wageningen, which will be guided by two plant experts. They will tell something about all the different plants living there. The excursion takes place at the 6th of June, and you can still subscribe at the site!
