Vineyard visit and wine tasting

Spring arrived, so it is time for an outdoor activity. This period we will organise a wine tasting to vineyard 'Wagenings Wijngoed' in Wageningen. This vineyard originated in 1998. During this activity, we will visit the vineyard and we get a wine tasting. A short description for those who are not familiar with this vineyard: The 'Wagenings Wijngoed' is located at 'Landgoed De Dorskamp' between Wageningen and Wageningen-Hoog at the Wageningse Eng. De grapes are grown organically. No artificial fertilizer is used, but organic manure and cover crops, like clovers and other legumes. Because of the undergrowth the soil is lighter, nutrients are released more quickly for uptake by the vine and there is more soil life. Among the vines grow flowers and herbs to naturally attract enemy insects, which fight the threateners of the grapes and the tendrils. The grapes have small clusters with small berries which results in a concentrated taste and aroma. This is reflected in the tasty wines!​
